【摘要】:Covershouseholdcookingequipmentthatisfloororcabinetsupported,wall-mounted,countermounted,orcombinationsthereof,rated600voltsorless,forinstallationinaccordancewiththeNationalElectricalCode.Theserequirementsalsocoverventilatinghoodsthatareprovidedasanintegralpartofthecookingequipment,orthatareseparatelysupportedonthebuildingstructurebutarrangedforfactory-providedelectricalconnectiontothecookingequipmentwithwhichtheyareintendedtobeused.Theserequirementsdonotcovercommercialcookingappliances.Theserequirementsdonotcoverspecialtypesofhouseholdcookingappliances.However,ifsuchappliancesareusedasapartofarange,oven,surfaceassembly,orcombinationthereof,theywillbejudgedonthebasisofcompliancewiththerequirementsinthisstandard,insofarastheyapply,andfurtherappropriateexaminationandtestsinaccordancewiththeapplicablerequirementsforelectricheatingappliances.Theserequirementsdonotcoveralltestsrequiredonhouseholdcookingapplianceshavingmicrowaveovens.Forthepurposeoftheserequirements,cookingequipmentincludesranges,ovens,surfaceassemblies,orcombinationsthereof.Arangeisconsideredtobeacombinationofasurfaceassemblywithoneormoreovens.Wall-mountedcookingequipmentisconsideredtobethoseappliancesintendedformountinginoronawallorotherverticalsurfaceofabuildingorcabinet.Counter-mountedcookingequipmentisconsideredtobethoseappliancesintendedformountinginoronacounterorotherhorizontalsurfaceofabuildingorcabinet.Inthefollowingtext,arequirementthatappliesonlytoone,two,orthreeoftheclassesofequipmentcomingwithinitsscope-ventilatinghoods,ranges,wall-mountedovens,counter-mountedcookingunits,orcombinationsthereof-aresoidentified.Intheabsenceofsuchspecificreference,orifthetermapplianceisemployed,itistobeunderstoodthattherequirementappliestoalloftheseclassesofequipment.Thisstandardwaslistedforpublicreviewinthe2/23/2001issueofStandardsAction.Itisbeingresubmittedduetosubstantivechangestothetext.
