【摘要】:Thesetestmethodswillallowtheusertodetermineintegrityandstabilityoftheloadaswellasprovideguidancetoimprovethedesignoftheshippingcontainerortheunitloadwheredeficienciesarefound.Damagetoproductsorpackagesobservedduringtestingcanbeexpectedtocorrelateatleastinaqualitativewaytodamageobservedinactualdistributionhandlingsystems.Theresultsreceivedfromshockmachinetestingandfreefalldroptestingaredifferentforcertainproducts.Wherethistestisperformedtosatisfyaregulatoryorcontractualrequirement,itsuseissubjecttoapprovalbytheagencyconcerned.1.1Thesetestmethodscovertestingtheintegrityofunitizedloadsandlargeshippingcasesandcratesaswellastheabilityofthecontentstoendureroughhandling.Notallofthetestmethodsareapplicabletoallproducts,containers,andloads.Thesetestmethodsareapplicabletocommonmeansofmaterialhandlingasfollows:1.1.1TestMethodA,B,C,D,andE8212;DropTest8212;Formeasuringtheabilityofthecaseorcrateorunitizedloadtowithstandroughhandlingimpactsandprovideinformationusefulinimprovingthedesignofthecontainer.Normally,TestMethodsAandBarenotappliedtounitizedloads.1.1.2TestMethodF8212;TipTest8212;Fordeterminingiffilledtallortopheavycases,crates,orunitizedloadswilltipoverwhentiltedtoapredeterminedangle.1.1.3MethodG8212;TipoverTest8212;Fordeterminingtheabilityoffilledlargeshippingcasesorcratestoresisttheimpactsassociatedwithtipoverhazards,andfordeterminingtheabilityofthepackagingandpackingmethodstoprovideprotectiontothecontents,whenthecaseorcrateistippedover.Note18212;TestMethodGfulfillstherequirementsofISO8768.ISO8768maynotmeettherequirementsforTestMethodG.1.1.4TestMethodH8212;RollingTest8212;Fordeterminingtheabilityofcomplete,filledlargeshippingcasesorcratestowithstandtheeffectsofrolling.Note28212TestMethodHfulfillstherequirementsofISO2876.ISO2876maynotmeettherequirementsforTestMethodH.1.2AdditionalTestProcedures:1.2.1TestmethodsformechanicalhandlingofunitizedloadsandlargeshippingcasesandcratesaresetforthinTestMethodD6055.Additionalteststhatapplytomechanicalhandlingofunitizedloadsandlargecasesandcratesincludeinclineimpacttests,describedinTestMethodD880andhorizontalimpacttests,describedinTestMethodsD4003andTestMethodD5277.TestMethodsD4003includesaspecialpalletmarshalingtestandTestMethodsD1185providestestmethodsforpalletsandrelatedstructures.1.2.2PracticeD4169providesaseriesofoptionsforselectingandrunningperformancetestsonalltypesofshippingcontainersandsystems.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
